Case Study: Crown Logistics

Lighting can account for more than half of the electricity used in warehouse and distribution centers. Here’s how LED Lowcountry helped the owner of a new warehouse facility save money.

Crown Transportation was planning to break ground on a new 153,000 square-foot facility in Savannah to support their expanding business. The new facility, less than three miles from the Port of Savannah was ready to break ground. The construction plans called for conventional lighting for the warehouse, offices, and area lights.

LED Lowcountry proposed a cost-effective alternative to conventional lighting. We showed the owner how the recommended light levels could be achieved with LED fixtures using only a fraction of the electricity. Based upon a typical 50-hour work week, the new LED fixtures will save the owner $170,000 in electricity and maintenance costs over the next 10 years-that’s competitive advantage!

To deliver these impressive operational savings, LED Lowcountry has partnered with Flex Lighting solutions, a leading high performance high bay manufacturer. The following video describes how the Flex fixture achieves superior performance.

The cost to convert from conventional to LED energy efficient lighting costs much less than you may think. The Crown Transportation LED upgrade, when combined with a Georgia Power rebate incentive, pays out in 1.3 years.
