“LED Lowcountry expertly handled our entire lighting project from start to finish, including maneuvering the complicated rebate application process. The increase in the quality of the light cannot be overstated, and has been a substantial benefit to our manufacturing process.”
– Daniel Reed, Controller, Metal Trades Inc.
Metal Trades is a family owned business located on the intracoastal waterway south of Charleston, South Carolina. Since 1962, the company has specialized in heavy steel fabrication for commercial and military customers. The Metal Trades management team had been considering a facility wide upgrade to LED technology for several years but had found the cost of conversion prohibitive. Enter LED Lowcountry.
Our initial facility visit started with a walkthrough of each building to gain an understanding of where improved lighting could help. We measured current light levels in each area and made recommendations based upon industry standards. Our lighting design included lighting layouts for eight buildings including an economic analysis of projected operational savings.
The lighting project included replacing on a one-for-one basis the exterior area lights, interior high bay fixtures and fluorescent tubes in the paint and blast booths, tool room and office buildings. Our installation team worked nights and weekends to not interfere with normal operations. The project was installed, tested and fully operational ahead of schedule.
Metal Trades now has an efficient LED lighting system that provides a brighter and safer workplace. LED Lowcountry secured a utility rebate to help offset the cost of installation. Problem solved.
